Berkeley College Offers New Career Webinar Series for Alumni

The Departments of Alumni Relations, Admissions, and Career Services have teamed up to offer webinars, or online learning seminars, to all alumni looking for career advancement.

Webinars are seminars hosted through your computer, making it easy to connect at any time or location.
“Berkeley College offers great career support for all alumni,” said Michael Smullen, Director of Alumni Relations.  “Unfortunately, it isn’t always possible for our alumni to arrange an in-person visit with a career counselor.  Our career services webinars make the perfect fit for alumni who would like to advancement professionally, but need flexible hours for help and support.”

The first webinar was hosted on Tuesday, October 19 at 6:00 p.m., and was titled, “Introduction to Alumni Career Services.”  Amy Soricelli, Director of Alumni Placement, delivered the presentation.

“The webinar was an excellent opportunity for me to share alumni career services in a comprehensive, easy to follow format,” Amy said.   “The feedback we received will enable me to provide even more effective services in the future.”

A second webinar was presented by Michael Iris, Social Media Coordinator, on Thursday, October 21 at 6:00 p.m.  This webinar was titled, “Using BerkeleyConnect and LinkedIn to Enhance Your Professional Network.”  BerkeleyConnect is an online community and directory for more than 30,000 Berkeley College graduates, and LinkedIn is the number one networking website for professionals.

“LinkedIn is probably the best way right now for our alumni to take their professional networking to the next level,” said Michael. “Whether you already have a job, or are currently searching, LinkedIn and BerkeleyConnect offer great tools help you advance your career.”

More webinars are in the planning process right now.  Check out our National Distance Learning Week initiative to find out more!
